f:898 -    Intercourse during pregnancy and when to take bath in Ramadhan
Country : India,
Name : Ahmed
Question:     I have some questions.

Do we have to recite any Dua at the time of intercourse or merely saying, Bismillah is enough?

Does Islam permit intercourse with wife when she is pregnant?

In Ramadhan, is it Wajib to immediately bathe after having intercourse or can one do it after Salaat Ul Fajr as well?

............................................................................
Answer:     Saying “Bismillah” is surely a means of blessings, but it is better to recite the Dua given in the Hadith.  There is a Hadith in Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them), he says:  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Are you not able to recite this Dua when you go to your wife and He said:  Bismillahi Allahumma Jannibnash Shaytaana Wa Jannibish Shaytana Maa Razaqtanaa (Translation: O Allah!  Save me from Satan and remove Satan from the child that you will grant me).  Then by this, Allah decrees such a child for them whom Satan will never harm.  (Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal, Hadith No. 2069)

It is permissible to have intercourse with a pregnant wife.  It is better to refrain in the advanced stages of pregnancy.

In Ramadhan, it is not Imperative (Wajib) to bathe immediately after intercourse.  You may bathe after the pre-dawn meal (Sehri).  Anyhow, it is necessary to bathe for Salaat Ul Fajr as offering Salaat Ul Fajr is dependent on this.

And Allah Most High knows best.
