Question: assalam u alekum sir i want to know can we pray taraweeh by television give me answer thank you ............................................................................
Answer: To offer Salaat behind an Imam, it is necessary that the Imam and the Muqtadi (the person following the lead of the Imam) be at the same place. If the Imam and the Muqtadi are at different places, the leading of Salaat will not be correct. Similarly, if there is a gap of equal to or more than 2 rows of worshippers between the Imam and the Muqtadi, it is not correct. In offering Taraweeh by television, this condition is being broken and as such this kind of Salaat will not be valid. And Allah Most High knows best.
