Question: if a person is a good qari but clean shaved, can he lead the prayers over other persons who are not qaris but have beard. ............................................................................
Answer: An Imam who shaves off his beard is in the terminology of the Shariah called “Fasiq” (wrongdoer). It is Makruh to offer Salaat behind that Imam when an Imam with the proper beard is present as given in Durre Mukhtaar, bab ul Imama.
