f:805 -    Muezzin giving Adhan seated

Question:     There is a muezzin in our Masjid who stands and talks for long periods, but gives the Adhaan seated.  Does the Shariah permit this?

Answer:     The muezzin should stand and give the Adhaan.  Giving Adhaan while seated is Makruh (undesirable), as given in Fatawa A'alamgiri, Kitab Us Salaat, Al Faslul Awwalu Fi Sifatil Adhaan.
