f:755 -    Replying to the sneeze of a woman

Name : Jawwad Khan
Question:     If a person gets to hear the sneeze of a woman, what should he do?  Is it necessary to reply to it?

Answer:     If the person who sneezes says "Alhamdullillah," then saying "Yarhamukallah" (May Allah have mercy on you) becomes Wajib.

If a lady sneezes and a non-Mahram man gets to hear it, then if the lady is aged, he should say "Yarhamukallah" loud enough so that the lady hears it and if the lady is not aged, then he should say "Yarhamukallah" in the heart.

In the same way, an aged woman can reply to the sneeze of a non-Mahram man and if the woman is not aged, she should do so in her heart.
