Question: I read your reply on bathing. I derived much benefit from it. I have a doubt about cleaning the nose. Sometimes, the filth in the nose hardens. In this situation, will the bath be correct? ............................................................................
Answer: Among the 3 Obligatory (Fardh) acts of the bath (Ghusl) are cleaning the nose so that the soft, fleshy part of the nose is wetted. If the snot hardens, then wetting the layer of the nose beneath it is compulsory. If this remains dry and the water does not reach the layer of the nose beneath it, then the bath will not be considered valid. As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Kitab Ut Taharah.
