f:702 -    Marrying a Christian woman

Question:     Can we marry a Christian woman?  If I do so, what are the guidelines?

Answer:     It is permissible for a Muslim to marry a Christian or a Jew woman.   However it is better to refrain from doing so, as because of the difference in religion, there is a great possibility of mutual differences.

For this the guidelines are the same as for marrying a Muslim woman.   The dower (Mehr) should be decided and the proposal of marriage and its acceptance should be done in the presence of 2 witnesses.   As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Kitab Un Nikah.
