Question: I want to know that a function is scheduled on a day and the Aqeeqa is also scheduled on the same day, can I perform them both on the same day? Or should I perform the Aqeeqa on a different day? For e.g. I want to perform my brother?s Aqeeqa on the same day as his sanchak. I want to know is it correct? ............................................................................
Answer: Yes it is. There is no objection from the Shariah if you want to schedule 2 different functions on the same day. You can perform the Aqeeqa on the day of the sanchak. In Sanchak, friends and relatives are fed, which is all correct. However, sisters-in-law catching the hand of the future brother-in-law and applying henna to his hands are all against the Shariah and must be refrained from.
