f:686 -    Question on Houz-e-Kauthar
Country : Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
Name : Abdullah
Question:     Will our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) be really given Houz-e-Kauthar?  Please answer the question in detail.
............................................................................
Answer:     On the Day of Judgment, every Prophet will have a Houz (kind of water tank) of their own.  The name of the Houz of our Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is Houz-e-Kauthar.  It will be as long as the distance covered in a month.  The soil of it will be fragrant like musk.  Its water will be whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, fragrant than musk and cooler than ice.  The vessels in which it will be drunk will be glittering like the stars.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) will Himself hand it out to His followers.  Whoever drinks it once will never again feel thirst.

There is a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari:

Translation: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Anas (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  When I was walking in paradise, I reached a stream, which had tents of such pearls on both its banks, which were carved from the inside.  I said: O Jibreel (May peace be upon him)!  What is this?  He said:  This is the Kauthar, which your Lord has granted you.  I see that its soil is fragrant like musk.  (Sahih Bukhari, 6581)

Its water, its fragrance and its vessels are mentioned in another Hadith:

Translation: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abdullah bin 'Amr (May Allah be well pleased with him), he said:  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  My Houz is of the distance covered in a month.  All its banks are equal.  Its water is whiter than milk, its fragrance is even better than musk and its cups are like the stars of the sky.  Whoever drinks of it will never feel thirsty again.  (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 6579)

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
