f:669 - Meat with Halaal label in Europe	Country : France, Name : Fareeduddin

Question: In Europe, on cows/buffaloes, goats and other types of meat, a label saying ?Halal? is affixed. It is affixed even on fish. Is such meat permissible? Muslims who live in Europe are in a dilemma about it. Please answer this question. ............................................................................
Answer: The ruling of the Shariah about the meat on which the label of “Halal” is fixed is that if in reality the animal has been slaughtered as per Islamic precepts and in conjunction with the rules and guidelines laid down in the Shariah, then eating such meat is permissible. If it is not so, then eating that meat is strictly impermissible and forbidden for the Muslims. As there is no question of slaughter in fish, there is no such concern regarding this and having it is permissible in the light of the Shariah. And Allah Most High knows best.
