f:66 -    When to recite Sana if joining the Salaat in the 2nd rakaat
Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Ali
Question:     If I join the Salaat in the 2nd raka?at, then when should I recite the Sana?
............................................................................
Answer:     It is a Sunnah to recite the Sana after the first Takbeer (Takbeer Tahrima).  If a person misses a Raka’at and joins the Salaat in the later Raka’at, then that person should not recite the Sana at that time, but should recite it when he is offering the missed Raka’at after the Imam ends his Salaat.

If one joins the Salaat when the Imam is in a Ruku or Sajdah, then if one has the time to join the Ruku or Sajdah even after reciting the Sana, then one may recite it or else recite it in the missed Raka’at.

You may recite Sana as per the given details.

As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Kitab Us Salaat.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
