f:642 -    Did Hadhrat Bilal actually stand on top of the Kaba and give the Adhaan

Question:     I'm highly pleased to submit my question before you. I heard that Hadhrat Bilal (May Allah be well pleased with him) gave Adha'an, standing upon the roof of the Holy Ka'aba facing towards the face of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Is it a Hadith or narration of someone? If it is a Hadith then in which book is it mentioned? Who is the narrator of it? Kindly copy the said Hadith and send the reply of it. Answer:     Hadhrat Bilal (May Allah be well pleased with him) has the honor of becoming the muezzin of our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Everywhere irrespective of at home or during journey, he was always there in the service of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and usually at every time of Salaat, he used to give the Adhaan.  As mentioned in the Hadith in Kanz Ul Ummal and in Subul Ul Huda war Rashad.

Translation: Imam Baihaqi narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Muhammad Bin 'Umar (May Allah be well pleased with him) and Hadhrat Sa'eed Bin Musayyab (May Allah be well pleased with him) that at the time of Umrah Qaza the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) performed Tawaaf and entered the Holy Ka'aba.  The whole night the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) stayed over there and at the time of Salaat Ul Fajr, Hadhrat Bilal (May Allah be well pleased with him) gave the Adhaan standing upon the roof of Holy Ka'aba.  His act of doing so was as per the order of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). (Subul Ul Huda war Rashad' Vol. No. 5, Pg. No. 193; Kanz Ul Ummal, Hadith No. 30204)
