f:631 -    Does Salaat become invalid if we say Aameen loudly
Country : Saudi Arabia,
Name : Abdul Gafoor
Question:     If we say Aameen loudly, does our Salaat become invalid?
............................................................................
Answer:     According to the Hanafi School of Jurisprudence, pronouncing Aameen softly is a Sunnah of our Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam). As given in the Hadith of Jami Tirmidhi Shareef' Vol. No. 1, Pg. No. 58:

Translation: Hadhrat 'Alqama bin Wa'il (May Allah be well pleased with him) narrates on the authority of his father that the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) recited  the last verse of Surah Fatiha and said Aameen in a soft voice. (Jami Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 231)

Regarding this narration, Imam Hakim in his Mustadrak Alal Sahiheen' has written: This Hadith is rigorously authenticated as per the standards  of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim. (Mustadrak Alas Sahihain, Hadith No. 2844)

Besides this, there are many Hadith which command us to say Aameen softly. In view of these Hadith, Hanafi jurists have said that pronouncing Aameen softly is a Sunnah. In case, it is pronounced audibly/loudly then it is Undesirable (Makruh), but it doesn't invalidate the Salaat.

As mentioned in Fatawa A'alamgiri' Vol. No. 1, Pg. No. 76 and 107

In the opinion of Imam Shafai (May Allah be well pleased with him), saying Aameen audibly is Commendable (Mandoob). Those who follow him have proofs of their school of thought as well.

And Allah knows best.
