Question: Generally people kiss the Holy Quran after reciting it, how far is kissing the Quran correct? ............................................................................
Answer: The Holy Quran is the great word of Allah Most High whose, importance, greatness, respect and dignity will be in the heart of each Muslim. Therefore kissing this divine constitution, this sacred manifesto is a part of its honor and respect. It is established through the actions of the Companions of Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)]. It is stated in Durre Mukhtaar that Hadhrat ‘Umar Farooq (May Allah be well pleased with him) used to kiss each page of Holy Quran every morning and say: This is the command of my Lord, Allah Most High and His manifesto. Similarly Hadhrat ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan (May Allah be well pleased with him) used to kiss the Holy Quran and keep it on his face to seek blessings from it.
