Question:     What is the excellence of reciting Surah Kahf?  Can we read it after Tahajjud?

Answer:     The excellence of reciting Surah Kahf on Friday is mentioned in the Hadith.  Its excellence is mentioned for simply reciting it, apart from reciting on Friday as well.  As the author of Tafseer Nasafi mentions in Tafseer Nasafi at the end of the Tafseer of Surah Kahf:

Translation:  The person who recites Surah Kahf will be safe from all trials for 8 days.  If Dajjal comes out in these 8 days, Allah Ta'ala will save that person from the trial of Dajjal also.  

Thus, it can be recited before or after Tahajjud, before or after Salaat Ul Jum'a or at anytime.
