f:525 -    Valima without relations between husband and wife

Question:     Is it necessary that the husband and wife should have sex otherwise the Valima will not be correct?

Answer:     For the Valima to be valid, it is not necessary that the marriage should be consummated.  It is enough if the bride and the groom are given absolute privacy (what the Shariah terms as "Khilwath-e-Saheeha").
