Question: Can a Sunni boy marry an Ahle Hadith girl? ............................................................................
Answer: The scholars (‘Ulama) and the Jurists (Fuqaha) have reached a consensus that following (Taqlid) any one of the 4 Imams i.e. any one from Imam Azam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafei or Imam Ahmed bin Hambal (May Allah be well pleased with all of them) is Wajib (compulsory). Not following brands a person going against the consensus of the Ummah and this is misguidance. Ahle Hadith deny Taqlid, therefore, avoiding a match with them is better. If a Sunni boy can make an Ahle Hadith girl a true Sunni and a follower of any of the 4 Imams, then with this condition he can marry her. In fact, in this situation, marrying is preferable.
