Question: Do we have to give Zakaat on vehicles also? ............................................................................
Answer: If somebody has 60 grams 755 milligrams gold or 425 grams 285 milligrams silver or its equivalent wealth/cash, which is safe from debt and on which a year has passed, then giving its Zakaat is necessary. If the vehicles were bought with the intention of selling them again (i.e. as a trade good), then if they meet the above mentioned criteria and 1 year has passed on them, then giving Zakaat on them is necessary. If they were not bought with the intention of selling them, then there is no Zakaat on them. And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
