Question: If our cap falls while offering Salaat, can we pick it up and wear it again? ............................................................................
Answer: If the cap falls while offering Salaat, then it can be re-worn with one hand, but it should end becoming Amal-e-Katheer (excessive actions), as with Amal-e-Katheer, the Salaat is invalidated (Fasid). The Jurists (Fuqaha) have described 3 definitions of this: 1. Doing anything which is normally done with 2 hands. 2. Doing something that will make an onlooker from afar think that this person is not in Salaat. 3. The person offering Salaat himself/herself thinks it to be Amal-e-Katheer.
