f:468 -    Question about slaughtering goat as Sadqa
Country : Pakistan,
Name : submittername
Question:     Can we slaughter a goat and give it in Sadqa?  What are its related issues?

............................................................................
Answer:     If the goat/lamb, etc. is slaughtered with a Wajib intention, for e.g. if an oath (Nazar/mannat) was taken to slaughter a goat, then it should be given to those needy people who are not Sadaat, i.e. who are not descendents of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  The person giving the Sadqa and his/her family should not eat from it.  If other relatives, who are not Sadaat, are needy, then giving it to them is also permissible.  If the  Sadqa is Nafl (optional), then even the affluent people can be included in this.  As given in Radd Ul Muhtaar, Kitab Ul Waqf.

And Allah knows best.
