f:459 -    Offering Witr in Gulf

Question:     As Salaam ALi kum .
I am working in Gulf and here the witr prayer is prayed in 2 rakats (ie) one in 2 rakat and one in one rakat. I am a hanafi .can I pray behind them or shall I pray seperate. Can U comment on this in the light of Hadees and Quran with ref

Answer:     In the opinion of Imam Shafa’ee, offering Salaat Ul Witr in the manner you describe is allowed.  If the Imam does not end the Salaat after 2 Raka’at, then you may offer behind him.  If the Imam does so, then you may offer it singly.
