Question: In the month of Ramadhan, many sessions of Samaat Quran are organized. At some places, male Huffaz recite the Holy Quran and in houses, women recite it. Is it allowed for men to listen to lady Huffaz? ............................................................................
Answer: Indeed, Allah Ta’ala has selected the blessed month of Ramadhan for revealing the Holy Quran. As given in Surah Baqarah, verse number 185: Translation: Ramadhan is the month in which the Holy Quran was revealed. Ramadhan has a special relationship with the Holy Quran and listening to the Holy Quran and reciting it in this month is a means of great reward. There is no problem in women listening to the Holy Quran being recited by women, but it is not correct for men to listen to women reciting the Holy Quran. In the same way, amplifying women’s voice through a mike, loudspeaker, etc. so that it reaches men is also not correct, as the voice of women is also included in “Aurah,” revealing which is not permitted.
