Question: My health suddenly deteriorated while fasting and I vomited. Does fast break on vomiting? ............................................................................
Answer: If the vomit was unintentional, then neither is the fast invalidated nor will you have to make up, i.e. perform Qaza of the fast, even though the vomit may be a mouthful. However, if any person vomits intentionally and the vomit is in quantity a mouthful, then the fast in invalidated and the Qaza of the fast should be performed, i.e. one fast will have to be kept in lieu of this fast. As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Ma Yujibul Qaza. And Allah Most High knows best.
