Question: Mufti Sahab, I want to know the Shariah ruling about people, including Huffaz, who keep beards only in Ramadhan. Is this correct? ............................................................................
Answer: Beard is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Regardless of whether it is Imam or Muqtadi (the person following him), everyone should follow and act upon the Sunnah. Having a beard in Ramadhan is no doubt good, but getting it trimmed/shaved in the remaining 11 months is very bad. We should make the approval of Allah Ta’ala and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) as our goal. May Allah Ta’ala guide us to follow the Sunnah and act upon them. Aameen.
