f:431 -    Where to place hands when performing Sajda

Question:     I have seen that people keep their hands in different places when they perform the Sajdah.  I am worried about what is the correct method of placing hands in Sajda.  Please guide me.

Answer:     The Masnoon (Sunnah) method of placing hands in Sajda is alongside the ears.  There is a Hadith in Sunan Nasai, Hadith No. 798.  Please see a part of the Hadith:

Translation of Hadith: The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) performed the Sajdah and placed His hands alongside His ears.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
