Question:     Asslamalaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakutuhu, can we schedule marriage on the 1st of Muharram?

Answer:     In light of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) and all his family and friends, Muslims normally don’t schedule marriages in the first days of Muharram.  It is not compulsory or necessary to marry on this date either.
