f:393 -    Performing Sajdah Tilawat on listening to the verses of the Holy Quran during menstruation
Country : Prabhani, India,
Name : Hajira Parveen
Question:     I have read on the website that girls/women can neither touch nor recite the Holy Quran during their menses.  This benefited us a lot.  In our society, many were unaware of this rule.  I got another question after reading this question that if a woman hears someone reciting an Aayat-e-Sajdah during her menses, should she perform the Sajdah Tilawat after her menses?
............................................................................
Answer:     If a lady in her menses hears someone reciting any Aayat-e-Sajdah (a verse of the Holy Quran on reciting or listening to which performing a prostration becomes Compulsory (Wajib) on the reciter and listener/s), the Sajda Tilawah (prostration on reciting and or listening to particular verses of the Holy Quran) does not become Compulsory (Wajib) on her.  As mentioned in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Pg. No. 38:

Translation: If a menstruating woman listens to an Aayat-e-Sajdah, Sajda Tilawah does not become Compulsory (Wajib) on her.

Thus, in the light of the Shariah, performing a Sajda Tilawah for a verse heard during menses is neither necessary nor compulsory.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
