Question: What are the Sunnah of slaughtering animals? ............................................................................
Answer: The following are the Sunnah acts to be kept in mind when slaughtering the animal. Sharpen the knife well before the slaughter Make the animal drink water. When slaughtering the animal, the head should be towards the south and the muzzle of the animal should be towards the Qiblah The one who slaughters should be clean and pure, i.e. with Taharah The one who slaughters should be facing the Qiblah The animal should be slaughtered with with the right hand. The one who slaughters should be quick in cutting the required blood vessels. The "Hi" part of "Bismillahi" should be clearly articulated while reciting "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar” The animal should be laid softly on its right flank.
