f:370 -    What the conditions of slaughtering animals?
Country : India,
Name : submittername
Question:     What are the conditions of Zibah?
............................................................................
Answer:     The one who slaughters the animal should be a Muslim or of the People of the Book (ie Ahle Kitab), i.e. either Jew or Christian.

He/she should be sane.

He/she should be conscious of his/her actions.

He/she speak out “Bismillah” i.e. “Bismillahi Allahu Akbar” while slaughtering the animal.

He/she should not take any others name besides that of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)

Slaughter while saying "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar"

The animal should be alive while Zibah

If any one of the conditions is not met then the Zibah will not be Halal, which means that the slaughter will not be considered Zibah, but will come under carrion.  (Murdaar in Urdu)
It is not a condition that the one who slaughters should be a man or an adult but a woman, under age, uncircumcised or dumb.  The one who needs to take bath (Ghusl), can also slaughter the animal (but the condition is they should be Muslim, sane and conscious and should recite "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar" while slaughtering.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
