Question:     What is meant by Slaughter?

Answer:     To slay the animal according to the Islamic law is known as Zibah.

In Zibah, cutting of the following is important in Zibah:

1. The wind pipe, (Narkhara in Urdu)
2. The food pipe (Mari in Urdu)
3. The 2 jugular veins.  

If the wind pipe, food pipe and even one of the jugulars is cut, then the Zibah is Halaal.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
