f:337 -    Does Rafaa Yadain make Salaat invalid

Question:     If after considering raising hands in Salaat as abrogated, will the Salaat of the person who does it be considered invalid?

Answer:     As per the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, raising hands in Salaat (Rafa’a Yadain) is abrogated (Mansukh).  There is a Hadith in Sahih Muslim that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Stay calm in Salaat.  

Even after this, if a person does "Rafa’a Yadain," then this act is against the Sunnah, but Salaat does not become invalid due to this.  As given in Durre Mukhtaar, Vol. 1, Wajibat Us Salaat.
