f:332 -    How to perform Wudhu in winter
Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Muhammad Ijaz
Question:     In winter, the skin becomes dry and when water is poured for Wudhu, the skin seems a bit dry and it is very small area, like a hair.  In haste, some people don?t pay attention to it.  In this case, is this allowed because of winter?  Can this be ignored because of being so small?

Answer:     Regardless of the season, washing body parts is Obligatory (Fardh) in Wudhu.  Even if a needle's worth of space remains dry, Wudhu will not be valid until that body part is wetted.  That is why, rubbing the body part (after wetting it) has been declared a Sunnah in Wudhu and in bath lest some body part remains dry.

Apart from this in winter, while performing Wudhu, only water should not be poured, but the body parts should be rubbed as if massaging the body with oil.  As mentioned in Bada'i Us Sana'i, Vol. 1, Pg No. 66 and Miraaqi Ul Falah, Pg No. 13.

And Allah Most High knows best.
