f:310 -    I want to search my own life partner

Name : Inayath Ali Himmathy Naqshbandi Qadri
Question:     I want to know whether I can search for a life partner myself.

Answer:     You can search for your own life partner within the limits prescribed by the Shariah.  Seeing the face of the girl for this purpose is permissible.  This makes the bond of love stronger as given in the Hadith in Jame' Tirmidhi:

Translation of Hadith:  It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Mugheera bin Sh'oba (May Allah be well pleased with him), he said that he sent his proposal to a lady.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: See her.  This will maintain the bond of love between you.  

(Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 1110).  

As given in Bahr Ur Raiq, Kitab Un Nikah

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
