f:289 -    Sending salutations and greetings on the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) when not in a state of ablution
Country : ,
Name : Abdullah
Question:     My question is that can we recite Durud Shareef without Wuzu?
............................................................................
Answer:     Islam teaches cleanliness and purity.  For some forms of worship, cleanliness (Taharah) is a condition and for some other forms of worship and recitations and prayers, ablution (Wudhu) is in included in its manners and declared as commendable.

Thus, for recitations and prayers and especially for sending salutations (Durood), doing so in a state of ablution is Commendable (Mustahab) and brings greater reward and leads to raising of status.  However, doing so when not in a state of ablution is not a sin either.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
