f:286 -    Dua In the month of Safar
Country : Saudi Arabia,
Name : Kareemuddin
Question:     I am overwhelmed with difficulties.  Often, it happens in the month of Safar that I face difficulties.  Different kind of thoughts cross the mind.  What should I do in this situation?  What Dua should we recite in Safar?
............................................................................
Answer:     Whenever a difficulty comes, then we should analyze our deeds.  We should remove all shortcomings and should repent and turn to Allah Most High, because difficulty does not come because of some month or some time, but because of our own deeds.

Allah Most High says:

Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because of the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness.  Surah Ash Shoora (42:30)

Even the virtuous and pious slaves of Allah Most High have to face difficulties and hardships and this is a test for them from Allah Most High.  The people who face difficulties with steadfastness and patience are successful and Allah's help is with them.

There is a Hadith in Zujajatul Masabeeh on the authority of Sunan Abu Dawood:

Translation:  It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat 'Urwa bin A'amir (May Allah be well pleased with him), he said that unluckiness, ill-omen, etc. was mentioned before the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Omen, unluckiness, ill omen does not become an obstacle in the work of any Muslim.  Thus, if any one you sees anything which he (or she) does not like, recite:

Transliteration:  Allahumma La Yaatee Bil Hasanaati Illa Anta, Wa La Yadfa'auss Sayyiaati Illa Anta, Wa La Haula Wa La Quwwata Illa Billah.

Translation: O Allah! You are the one who brings every kind of good; You are the one who removes every kind of evil, there is no strength to stay away from evil and there is no strength to perform anything good except through the help of Allah Most High.

(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith No: 3921; Zujajatul Masabeeh, Vol. 3, Pg No. 445)

And Allah Most High knows best.
