Question:     Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullah,

My treatment is going on.  For testing, I had to give a sample of my semen.  Is it correct?  As I was on duty, I did not have the opportunity of going home and taking a bath.  I could not leave the Salaat, so I offered Salaat in the same condition.  Is it correct?  As I did not have any other way?

Answer:     Walaikum Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakutuhu,

Giving semen for testing is not allowed as per the Shariah.  There are many drawbacks of it.  Semen is also wasted.  To develop desire, all other ways excepting relations between the husband and wife are impermissible, regardless of whether it is through indecent images or through masturbation.  It is compulsory to avoid it.  If there is no other way apart from it, then please send the details and we will answer it.  

When semen leaves the body with desire, then full ritual bath (ghusl) becomes Obligatory (Fardh).  When faced with such a situation, a bath should be taken immediately.  Offering Salaat, touching or reciting the Holy Quran and entering a mosque are all not allowed.  The Salaat which is offered in this unclean state is not valid.  Offering Salaat in this state is Forbidden (Haraam).  Unknowingly, you have committed a grave error.  You should repent. Missing an Obligatory Salaat also is not allowed.  Somehow a bath should be taken and Salaat should be performed.  You please find out the rules of purity, ablution and baths and start acting upon them in your daily life and also keep finding out the rules of Islam about other aspects of life as well.
