f:217 - Where to offer Salaat if there is no place in Maqam Ibrahim	Country : Raichur, Karnataka, Name : Siddiq Hasan

Question: When the Hajis go to offer the 2 raka'at (of Tawaf) at the Maqam Ibrahim, very few get the chance to offer the Salaat there. What should the Hajis do if they don't get the chance to offer Salaat at the Maqam Ibrahim? If they cannot offer 2 raka'at at Maqam Ibrahim, what other place is preferred (Afdhal) to offer the 2 raka'at of Tawaf? ............................................................................
Answer: The 2 Raka'at of Tawaf is Compulsory (Wajib). It is Commendalbe (Mustahab) and preferred to offer it behind the Maqam Ibrahim. The Jurists have described the following places in order of preference to offer the 2 Raka'at of Tawaf: 1. Behind Maqam Ibrahim. 2. Inside the Ka'aba. 3. Inside the Hateem Ka'aba under the Meezan Rahmat. 4. Near it. 5. In the Hateem. 6. Near Ka'aba. 7. Inside Masjid Haraam. 8. Inside the Haram, wherever possible. Thus, if it is not possible to offer the 2 Raka'at of Tawaf behind Maqam Ibrahim then according to the above mentioned order, they can be offered anywhere as per convenience.
