f:168 -    What to do if only 8 Rakaat of Taraweeh are being offered

Question:     Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullah, Mufti Sahab, I want to know that here in Saudi Arab, in most Masjid only 8 Raka'at of Taraweeh is offered.  Then how do I offer my 20 Raka'at of Taraweeh?  Should I offer 8 Raka'at in the Masjid and the rest 12 Raka'at at home or the entire 20 Raka'at in home?  I have read your book "20 Raka'at Taraweeh" and entirely agree with you that 8 Raka'at Taraweeh is wrong.

Answer:     If the Imam is not of wrong Aqida and offers 8 Raka'at of Taraweeh, then you may offer 8 Raka'at in the mosque and the rest at home.  If the Imam is of wrong Aqida, then you should offer the entire 20 Raka'at at home.
