f:160 -    How to find out whether unknown dead woman is Muslim or not?

Question:     Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullah, Please answer these questions:

1. What is that thing, which when you have Nikah does not occur and when you have Janazah does not occur?
2. The time for hanging a criminal is given as from Fajr to sunrise? Why not some other time?
3. If a woman's dead body is found, then how to find out that whether it is a of a Muslim or not?

Answer:     You please don’t spend your time in such things, but concentrate on finding the rulings of what is permissible and what is not and if you know all such rulings, then you may spend your time in reciting the Holy Quran.

If there is any indication on the women's body of being a Muslim like clothes normally worn by women of the Muslim community or such or if the dead body is found in Muslims' area, then it will be considered a Muslim and the burial will take place as per the Shariah and if no indications of this kind are found, then it will be considered a non-Muslim, as given in Fatawa A'alamgiri, Vol. 1, Pg No. 159.
