Question:     I want to marry my daughter to the son of my own paternal uncle.  Is this correct in light of the Shariah?

Answer:     It is permissible to marry your daughter to the son of your own paternal uncle.  This relation is not mentioned among those relations with whom marriage is prohibited.  Allah Most High says:


Also, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) married His daughter, Hadhrat Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with her) to Hadhrat ‘Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him), who is the son of His paternal uncle.


And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
