Question:     I have heard a Hadith that the person who murders a non-Muslim will not even get the fragrance of Jannah. Is there any such Hadith? Please give the references.

Answer:     Yes, the Hadith which you have heard is absolutely correct.  Imam Bukhari has recorded this Hadith in his great collection of Hadith, Sahih Bukhari, Kitab ul Jizya.

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has described dire warnings on a Muslim murders a non-Muslim.  It is given in Sahih Bukhari, Kitab Ul Jizya, Hadith No. 2930:

Translation:  It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abdullah bin ‘Amr (May Allah be well pleased with them) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever murders a non-Muslim with whom there was a pact, that person will not even get the fragrance of paradise, even though its fragrance can be smelled from a distance of 40 years.
