Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Muhammad Mazharuddin
Question:     Salaam mufti sahab. my question is about this aayath of quran e pak, using which many people say that those who are in qabar can\'t hear us. Can you please clarify
Surat-Faatir
35.22

............................................................................
Answer:     The verse of the Holy Quran that you have mentioned is actually like this:

Surely, Allah makes whom He wills hear, and it is not your responsibility to make those hear who are (like those buried) in the graves (i.e., you are not responsible to make the disbelievers accept what you say).  Surah Fatir (35:22)

This verse clearly shows that Almighty Allah can let those whom He wants to, listen after dying and that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) also can let those hear whom Almighty Allah grants the permission to hear.  Where does this verse prove that those who are in graves can’t hear anything?  What this verse proves is that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) can make those people hear whom Allah Most High Himself permits.

And Allah The Most Merciful and The Most Beneficent knows best.
