Question: Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullah, Mufti Sahab, I have seen it many times that when people are getting married for example or going abroad, Imam Zamin is tied on their hands. Is it a Bida'at? ............................................................................
Answer: Walaikum Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakutuhu, money is tied with the intention of giving Fatiha. The aim of this is to give Fatiha and to remind one of giving it. Tying it is not a Shariah issue. Instead of tying, it can be kept in the pocket or somewhere else also. As there is nothing against the Shariah involved, it is permissible (Jayiz).
