Question: Assalamalaikum. I married a girl in 2007. I married her according to the Shariah and I have all the proof and documents, etc. Now our family has come to know of it. Because
of the society and the relatives, they want us to marry again. Can we marry again?

Answer:
Walaikum Assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuhu. If you had married in the presence of 2 major and sane witnesses, then your marriage is done. A second marriage (Nikah) is not permissible according to the Shariah. There are many drawbacks and disadvantages in it. Remarrying when the lady is married to you is deception and cheating others. Instead of this, you can arrange a function and invite your relatives and others.
