f:943 -    Questions pertaining to Salaat
Country : India,
Name : Inayath
Question:     I didn't know the rules of covering the bare nakedness (Satar) for Salaat.  Now I've learned them from Noor Ul Masabeeh. Do I have to reperform all Salaat?
............................................................................
Answer:     For a woman, her whole body, except the face, the hands from the wrists down and the foot below the ankle, is considered to be “Satar.”  If while offering Salaat, more than 1/4th of a part, which is to be covered, is exposed for the time taken to complete 1 article of Salaat (Qiyam, Ruku, Sajda, etc.), then that Salaat has to be re-offered.

If less than 1/4th of the body part is exposed or if it is exposed for less than the time taken to complete 1 article of Salaat, then the Salaat is valid although with a degree of undesirability.
