f:74 -    Men wearing steel jewelry
Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Muhammad Abdur Rahmaan
Question:     Assalamalaikum! I want to ask a question to Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri:

Is it permissible for a man to wear jewelry made of steel?  Like bracelet etc. If yes, then to what extent.

............................................................................
Answer:     It is permissible for a man to wear a silver ring weighing less than 3.03775 gm (Mithqaal in Urdu).  Apart from this wearing any kind of gold or silver jewelry is forbidden and wearing jewelry made of other metals like steel, etc. is Undesirable (Makruh).

Thus men should avoid wearing jewelry made of any metal, etc.  However for women it is permissible to wear jewelry made of gold, silver or of any other metal. As given in Radd Ul Muhtaar, Vol. 5 Pg. No. 254 and in Fatawa A'alamgiri Vol. 5, Pg. No. 359.

And Allah knows best.
