f:265 -    Trade in wine and carrion
Country : India,
Name : Inaam
Question:     Is the trade of wine and carrion permissible between a Muslim and a person who lives in a Non-Islamic country?

............................................................................
Answer:     The trade of wine and carrion is not permissible as per the general rules of buying and selling in Islam.  However, Imam Ibn Humam (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) has mentioned the opinion of the "Tarfain" (Imam A'adham Abu Hanifa and Imam Muhammad) favoring the permissibility of trade of carrion, when in the opinion of Imam Abu Yusuf (May Allah shower His Mercy on him), this is not correct.  Anyways, staying away from this is only the best way.  As given in Fath Ul Qadeer, Vol. 7, Pg No. 37.

And Allah Most High knows best.
