f:22 -    What to recite in Tashahud if joining the congregation late
Country : India,
Name : Ali

Question:
A person told me that if there is delay in joining the congregation (jamaat) and 1 or more than 1 rakaat are missed, then in the last sitting (qaida), the person should not recite the Durood Ibrahim and Dua Mathoora after the Tashahud, along with the imam

.....................................................................................................................................
Answer:
The person who misses 1 or more than 1 Rakaat of a congregation is called Masbooq (lit. the overtaken one). About the last sitting, the ruling for such a person is that he should stop with the Tashahud, and Tashahud should be recited slowly in such a manner that till the Imam finishes the Salaat, the Tashahud must be continued.  As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri Vol 1, Kitaab Us Salaat

And Allah Most High knows best.
