Going to the doctor during Iddat

For the sake of treatment, women should seek out a lady doctor.  If a lady doctor is not available, then getting themselves treated by a male doctor is permissible.

Now whether a lady can do so in the waiting period (Iddah) of the death of the husband, then the Shariah says that a widow should remain in the house that her husband had kept her for 4 months and 10 days and in this duration, she should not leave the house.  If for some valid reason, like employment, treatment, etc., she needs to go out, then she may, but she should spend the night in her own house.  As mentioned in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Pg. No. 534 and also in Bahr Ur Raiq.

And Allah Most High knows best.
