Hadith in SMS without reference

Normally we get Hadith in SMS.  Many of them don't quote the reference of the Hadith.  Is doing so correct?

It is not correct to say a Hadith without its proper reference.  It is a responsibility of those who message Hadith to give the reference as well.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
